January Mantle Refresh

Say it with me, “we can be merry in January.” In Rio the holidays are followed by what is known as pre-carnaval season. It’s summertime, and the spirit of festivities continues on through mid to late February.

Here in the US we are in the thick of winter, shorter days, and often gloomy weather. Our culture promotes cleanses, detoxes, dry January, and an immediate action plan for resolutions.

It’s no wonder we call January one giant Monday.

But, it can be a wonderful month for introspection, planning, and resting. Having kids taught me to enter January gracefully. I am often drained, not refreshed, from the holidays and winter break, and usually we are navigating a winter bug going through our house. My expectations for what I will accomplish this month are low my friends.

My focus for the month is usually in the home, making sure that once Christmas gets packed up, the house still keeps spirits bright.

Adding color to decor this time of year can be a lovely boost in energy and happiness. I had a lot of fun resetting my mantle to make my house joyful and vibrant for the last few months of winter.

This is also the perfect opportunity to extend a warm welcome to new partners and announcing that a few of these items are coming soon to our shop, including the neon candles by @pinkstories.de, Palo Santo Floral stick by @goodvibrations.shop, Candle Holder in several colors by @gokicandle, and a new throw by @Calhounandco.
